Bridal Shower Dessert Table
Bridal Shower Dessert Table
I offered to help throw a bridal shower for Midge (friend and scrumpdilly reader). My main task was the dessert table. Bake, bake, bake, I did for over 14 hours.
72 cookies for gift bags (lemon butter cookies, molasses cookies, and swirled sugar cookies)
60 cookies for cookie dish (molasses cookies and swirled sugar cookies)
54 cupcakes (chocolate with vanilla buttercream frosting lined with blue sugar, lemon with lemon buttercream frosting and raspberry fruit gem)
2 vegetarians
1 vegan (me)
21 omnivores who didn’t know the difference; all goods were a huge hit!
I had a great time baking. And an even better time reflecting on it afterwards.

So are the blue-sugared cupcakes the boy cupcakes and the raspberry-gem cupcakes the girl cupcakes? And they lived happily ever after, IN MY BELLEH?
Those swirl cookies are so eye-catching. I have to think they would wow the office at our big-deal Halloween party, which will have a space theme this year.
Are the molasses cookies crispy or chewy?

I’ll answer in reverse order:
Molasses = chewy goodness
Swirl = if you want the recipe…
Blue/Raspberry = In the belleh - yeah!
Aaaand, what the hell? I had no sooner posted (9:53pm) when you commented (9:59pm). You crazed woman! You must feed.

Oh, yeah: do I FEED. But I suspect you meant something else. Honestly, last night, it was just a coincidence. Chalk it up to our special ESP or to my compulsive checking of the blog for new adventures!

The treats were delicious! The lemon cupcakes (the ones without the blue sprinkles) were my favorite of all time. I loved the frosting.
I didn’t even get a bag of cookies! Women-vultures were feasting on them. I think my Mom left with two!
Thank you for doing all of that baking. Everything I tried tasted soooo good and the table looked beautiful!
